8 Diagrams

Finally! I just copped my official copy of the new wu album. I've been waiting 6 years for this joint. Still, I can't believe they dropped this album with zero promotion except for interviews. I know people in the states aren't gonna really support this album as they should but overseas they are prolly going bananas right now. Its a shame real hip-hop only gets appreciated in Europe, Japan, etc. America is really doing bad right now and gettin caught up in all the commercial hype. I feel once you're stuck in that commercial world its hard to get out because you're mind is made to believe the stuff you're listening to.

You know what? i am not gonna rant about how commercial music has completely f*%ked up the music industry because some of it I do appreciate. Its a real slim percentage of commercial acts such as Jay-Z, Kanye or Pharrell that don't forget that its not about the money its about doing what you love which translates into great music.

Anyway if you have $10 to spare go pick up that Wu-Tang 8 Diagrams and expand your visions.

Crunch Time

That's pretty much what i've been doing since the last time I blogged.

Shit is gettin hectic man. Projects here, a paper there...a exam at the end of the week

teachers need to chill out with all the extra shit when it comes down to the end of the semester. I know we gotta work to get a job but got damn give a brother a break !

i can't wait til the week is over so i can get back to the regular scheduled program with the music. The treats are coming !

How is Hip Hop Dead if Wu-Tang is Forever? (c) RZA

I know its early but ive been listening to nothing but 8 Diagrams for couple of days now, and I gotta admit its a solid release.

After my first listen, I thought to myself
"what the hell is this?"
I found myself agreeing with Raekwon's Youtube Interview and thinking why RZA took this crazy direction with the music.

It's BEAUTIFUL

After about my 3rd listen I began to realize that I am listening to a Wu-Tang album. They are one of the most innovative groups in Hip-Hop history. So why am i treating this like all the other disposable music we are exposed to?

I sat back and studied the album like a physics book and came to a solid conclusion that the album is fierce.

It's filled with great music, great lyrics, and a lot of jewels. I would do a track by track analysis but its too early for all that...Plus i have more studying to do...

yessir!
